The Mission Statement
Ruritan is a national organization dedicated to improving communities and building a better America through fellowship, goodwill and community service.  The national slogan is "Fellowship, Goodwill, and Community Service".

Our local chapter was established September 14,1971.  Monthly dinner meetings are held except during December and August. Contact: Jim Laris, president at 852-3350

The members of the Tioughnioga Ruritan Club would like to thank the people of the communities that make up the area for their support of our fund raisers and community service projects. With your help, annual July auction, our annual May auto show and our October Hunter Pace Equestrian Event, which also benefited the Firemen's Auxiliary and various local businesses, raised funds($) that were returned to the community as donations and service projects.

Donations have included the Food Pantry, the American Legion, family emergency relief, startup costs for our community website, teddy bears to console children in emergencies, and the American Red Cross and Salvation Army for 911 and Hurricane Katrina relief, a rare occurrence where funds went outside the immediate communities. Donations benefiting DCS students included graduation cash awards, student loan fund, yearbook, student projects, Madison County Children's Camp, Boys' State attendees and marching band uniforms.

Service projects included Adopt a Highway, village flower boxes, post office bench, village flags and holiday celebrations, Fair baking contest, fairgrounds walking track lights, Red Cross blood drives, the improved fairgrounds sound system, and the Rte. 13 sidewalk.
