The
Mission Statement
Ruritan
is a national organization dedicated to improving communities and
building a better America through fellowship, goodwill and community
service. The national slogan is "Fellowship, Goodwill, and
Community Service".
Our local chapter was established September 14,1971.
Monthly dinner meetings are held except during December and

The members of the Tioughnioga Ruritan Club would like to
thank the people of the communities that make up the area for their
support of our fund raisers
and community service projects. With your help, annual July auction,
our annual May auto show and our October Hunter Pace Equestrian Event,
which also benefited the Firemen's Auxiliary and various local
businesses,raised funds($) that were returned to the community as
donations and service projects.
Donations
have included the Food Pantry, the American Legion, family emergency
relief, startup costs for our community website, teddy bears to
console children in emergencies, and the American Red Cross and
Salvation Army for 911 and Hurricane Katrina relief, a rare
occurrence where funds went outside the immediate communities.
Donations benefiting DCS students included graduation cash awards,
student loan fund, yearbook, student projects, Madison County
Children's Camp, Boys' State attendees and marching band uniforms.
Service projects included Adopt a Highway, village flower boxes,
post office bench, village flags and holiday celebrations, Fair baking
contest, fairgrounds walking track lights, Red Cross blood drives, the
improved fairgrounds sound system, and the Rte. 13 sidewalk.
